Acne cures
Acne is very annoying. However, it’s not something that cannot be cured. There are lots of acne skin care products around. We can divide them into 3 categories:
1. Preventive/general acne skin care products
2. non-prescription, specialized acne cure products
3. On-prescription acne cure products.
The preventive acne skin care products are the products which are used as acne-prevention measure, such as cleansers, make-up removers and similar products that help prevent acne. In the real sense, these skin acne cure products are just ones that should be your daily routine. However, some of these are more oriented to act like an acne cure product. These acne treatment products act against the causes of acne, e.g. limiting the production of sebum/oil and preventing clogging of skin pores. Basically, these acne skin care products prevent the oil from getting trapped in pores and hence inhibit the growth of bacteria that cause acne. The general acne treatment products also include exfoliation ingredients like skin peels. They work towards removing dead skin cells, hence reducing the possibility of pore-clogging and bacteria development.
Then there are specialized acne treatment products that are available over-the-counter, i.e., there is no need of doctor’s prescription. These include products like vanishing creams which extract the extra sebum from the skin. Most of these acne skin care products are based on benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid, both of which can kill bacteria (and hence acne). You should start with a product that has less benzoyl peroxide (e.g. 5%) and see if it is effective to your skin. Alpha-hydroxy-acid based moisturizers are also popular as acne skin care products. You might have to test a few, before you stick on the acne treatment product which can effectively help cure acne. If nothing seems helpful, you should contact a dermatologist for help.
Prescribed acne treatment products are the products that are prescribed by a physician. This can include ointments that can be applied on the affected area, or oral medication or just any topical treatment. Dermatologist could also suggest a minor surgical procedure to remove the contents of pimples. But, never try to squeeze or do this by yourself, it can lead to permanent damage of your skin. Your doctor may also prescribe a hormone-based treatment, because hormonal changes are also known to cause acne. Such acne cure products are very effective in some cases.
With all these acne skin care tips, curing acne is not that difficult.
